What started as a fun and entertaining take on a character trying to will all her wants and desires into existence eventually turned into an unlikable main character who loses all sympathy from the reader.

The relationship between Margo and Ian, her husband, left me slightly confused after finishing this audiobook. Margo is having a moment of “first world problems” as she is completely set on what she believes is her dream home and she will do whatever it takes to make that dream a reality. Queue the usual characteristics of lie, cheat and steal, however she takes that to the max by going full stalker on the current owners of said dream home. I felt that in the beginning Ian seemed dismissive of her dream and that made her seem relatable as a character, but the further the story went, Margo becomes completely engrossed in getting that home, no matter the cost to her career, relationships, and even her own morality. By the end, she became completely unlikable and I even felt myself rooting against her at times.

Thriller lover that I am, I would recommend this book to a few of my fellow thriller lover friends, but would be honest with others that this book may not be for everyone.
